Origin and history
The name ‘Sunkiss’ now refers to the Middle form of ‘Albovariegatum’ presented in this profile. The originator and exact date when this mutation appeared remain unknown.
Early in its distribution, the name ‘Sunkiss’ was used for several different aeoniums. It may, in particular, have been applied to plants corresponding to ‘Glaze’. This historical confusion does not call into question its current association with ‘Albovariegatum Middle’.
Botanical description
General description
This variegated aeonium has a broad yellow-to-creamy-yellow central band surrounded by green lateral areas. Here, Middle refers to variegation concentrated mainly in the center of the leaf.
Seasonal changes
The foliage changes little throughout the year. In the observations described, the central pattern of variegation and the contrast between creamy yellow and green remain broadly consistent.
Growth and branching
Its growth rate is normal for a variegated aeonium, and its ability to produce offsets is average. Its behavior appears similar to that of ‘Albovariegatum’, with apparently better overall vigor in the available observations.
Stability and reversions
